Our Story

It Started With One
Child.

Over 30 years ago, Jeanene Thicke felt a calling to help the poor of Colombia. With no connections and without speaking Spanish, she went forward in faith. What she found were thousands of children living on the streets, without food, shelter, or anyone to care for them.

One family in particular changed everything. Living inside a discarded cardboard refrigerator box was a young girl, born in a trash heap, sick and covered in rat bites. Jeanene prayed with the family and began helping in any way she could. Her family soon mobilized support, and what started as a simple act of compassion became a lifelong mission.
